The Tesla Motor company’s CEO, Elon Musk, announced that it is on pace to showcase its newly developed electric semi-truck by October of this year, which is ahead of schedule according to Musk. This has been a very highly anticipated launch as the trucking industry looks for the new tech to breathe life into static industry that needs a push.
The company has hinted that it will have a version of the truck that can go up to a thousand miles on one tank of gas and the company has also been working on having its commercial vehicles become fully autonomous. This means that the commercial trucking business will be getting even more competitive as Tesla will be joining the likes of Uber and Google’s Waymo in the segment that’s looking more and more lucrative for the heavy tech hitters.
Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride tentatively scheduled for Oct 26th in Hawthorne. Worth seeing this beast in person. It’s unreal.
