Fiat Chrysler Automobile announced that it is recalling almost 8,000 2017 Dodge Challengers due to a problem with the vehicle not staying in Park. Sound familiar? Well, it should. Drivers would come to a stop and put their vehicle in Park while the engine was still running and Park would fail to engage properly.
Under some circumstances—like stopping your vehicle on an incline—the Dodge Challenger would roll away after the driver exited the car. (Use your parking brake, people.) No one seems to have suffered the ignominious fate of being rolled over by their own demon-possessed Challenger quite yet, but we’re just pissed that automakers still can’t seem to figure out the basics: ‘Stop’ and ‘Go.’
