A 4-cylinder engine, with 316HP, is standard for the mentioned AWD. There is a 250HP engine, but it is available with front-wheel drive only. Transmission is 8-gear automatic, but the driver will get a manual shifting feature. Fuel consumption is 22/30 mpg, which isn’t bad for a large wagon!
3. 2017 Audi A4 Allroad – Rating: 8.5/10
Audi A4 Allroad is similar to the aforementioned Volvo. Still, it is a more hardcore vehicle, suitable for off-roading and for heavy-duty applications. 4-wheel drive is very good, especially if we know that it is paired with a lot of power. The ‘’weakest’’ version has 330HP and a V6. The most powerful has impressive 550HP from V8. The 2018 model has 4 cubic feet of cargo space more than the previous model.

Subaru Outback is based on the old Subaru Wagon model. Although the original model isn’t manufactured anymore, the Outback shares the same passion and the same capabilities. Normally, you wouldn’t expect to see a BMW on this list, but owners of the 330i, wagon version are very satisfied. According to our tests, this car really has a lot to offer. First of all, you get a part of the BMW handling. xDrive drivetrain is suitable for light off-roading but it is way better on a track or when you want to drive fast.
The engine produces 248HP and reaches the top speed of 155 mph (limited). Fuel consumption is 23/34 mpg and 0-60 mph time is 5.4 seconds. You can choose between 6-gear manual or 8-speed automatic transmission.
8. 2017 Volvo V60 Cross Country – Rating: 5.5/10
V60 is an interesting model and specifically designed for those who think V90 is too big car. It offers decent off-roading capabilities and plenty of space for passengers and for cargo. Most owners claim this is the best AWD wagon in the class and we particularly agree. It isn’t the best in any aspect, but it is above average in all of them!

Mini Clubman ALL4 is truly a remarkable car. It offers the best of hot hatchbacks and a practicality of wagons. As an AWD wagon it is remarkably good. The storage space is 48 cubic feet, and clever design ensures plenty of space for the passengers. We liked the looks and revy engine, which is just superb for this car. The price isn’t very high, considering this is a rare car to find.
The engine produces 189HP and it is a turbocharged 2.0L, 4-cylinder version. The front wheel drive is standard, but you can get all-wheel drive with 8-speed automatic transmission. Interesting: JCW version with 228HP is available as well.
10. 2018 Buick Regal TourX – Rating: 4.5/10
This is a real AWD wagon for average people. It is affordable, modern vehicle with all the elements a person may need. Keep in mind that it is still a relatively new model, so many facts about it are unknown. We know that it offers 73.5 cubic feet of cargo space and 8-gear automatic transmission. Safety features include forward collision and line departure warnings, but they are available only as optional extras.
The engine is 2.0L and it produces 250HP. All-wheel drive is standard. We found that this car will be launched in a couple of months and that selling figures already look promising. Interesting: Buick Regal TourX has a similar platform as Opel Insignia, which means that it is identical to all-new Chevrolet Malibu.
